Effect of water immersion on the AC-WC mixture utilizing elastomeric modified asphalt to compressive strength, elastic modulus and durability

Indonesia has relatively high rainfall with a long duration of rain. It can result in flood on the surface road. A reduce strength materials from asphalt mixture and cut life road plan. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct study that measure durability level material layer water bath. The used an Asphalt Concrete-Wearing Course (AC-WC) Elastomeric Modified (EMA), Upper Limit (UL), Middle Range (MR), Lower (LL) gradation based specification. Optimum Bitumen Content (OBC) value was obtained each by applying Marshall test. OBC create specimens had diameter 3 inches height 6 inches, they were using Unconfined Compression Strength (UCS) This measures compressive elastic modulus immersion for 1, 2, 4, 7 days. To calculate Retained Index (RSI), First Durability (r), Second (a). results showed there decrease gradations UL, MR, LL days 7. meant longer time more reduced mixture. UL-gradedraded best when compared MR up 7th-day immersion, RSI 91.19%, (r) 7.44%, (a) 6.93%. At same time, mixture, no significant effect because fluctuating immersion.
